| | Prize Budgies Stolen
A prize-winning budgie breeder has hired a private investigator after two of his prize budgies were stamped to death and the other 21 – worth over £2000 in total – were stolen from his house. The crime occurred the night before the Cornwall Budgerigar Show – where the breeder’s most prized budgie, Penmead Pride, had won the title the year before – leading police to suspect that a rival budgie breeder may have been involved.
Mr. Pooley, 58, has hired a Thames Valley retired detective to solve the crime and catch the culprits. The detective, Mr. Hayward, has stated that the budgie murderer was clearly somebody with a knowledge of birds, as he knew exactly which budgies to kill and which budgies to steal. Mr. Pooley has offered a £200 reward for anybody who can provide information about the crime.
Birdtrader hopes the perpetrator of this horrible crime will be caught as soon as possible!
